A Japanese store first unveiled a Diamond Christmas Tree, and now a Japanese precious metals jewelry retailer unveiled a Santa Claus statue made of pure gold and 1.7 ct of diamonds. A 200 million yen (US$1,817,355) golden Santa Claus displayed at Shinsaibashi store 1 F in Tokyo's Ginza shopping district Tuesday, November 20, 2007.
This golden Santa Claus statue measures approximately 42-centimeter (1 foot, 5-inch) tall and weighs solid 20kg. With 23 beads total of 1.7-carat of diamonds that decorate the belt buckle. The gold Santa carries a gifts bag which is also made of gold is filled with 10 gold coins. The world’s most expensive Santa figure take 3 months each to make. This Santa Claus figures will be displayed one each in Tokyo and Osaka, western Japan, until December 25.
